Palm Springs Staycation
Last week seemed like a complete rollercoaster! I wasn’t sleeping enough, I was cranky and irritatted and I couldn’t even tell you exactly why. Thank God I have a Husband who is super in tuned with my emotions. One evening before bed he looked at me and said Let’s go to Palm Springs. I dropped everything I was doing and begin to book our stay online. In the next few days we were packing up the car with our bags and ready to get rolling down the highway. We arrived in Palm Springs in no time. From where we live in Orange County, Palm Springs is roughly 99 miles away which is about 1:30 minutes depending on traffic. I was so excited to reach our final destination. You see I haven’t been to Palm Springs in about 15 years. The last time I was there was for a girls trip in the middle of the summer where the temperature was at least a scorching 110 degrees in the shade. That trip was completly boring! There was nothing to do and we were surrounded by a bunch of retired people. It literally felt like I was in leisure world lol.
We finally made it to our hotel Margaritaville (formerly known as the Riviera) at around 4pm. If you’ve ever been to Palm Springs you know that most of the hotels are smaller boutique retro styled. Margaritaville did not disappoint. At first glance you can immediately see that this hotel is dated but recently renovated. This hotel is also know as the “Desert Oasis With Island Soul” The upgrades I found to be super cute! Everything from the chic, mid century aesthetic and casual luxe island feel. Just minutes from downtown Palms Springs and the best thing about this place is that (I read in their publication) Jay Z and Beyonce stayed here along with a ton of other high profile celebrities. Lastly I would like to say that this place has a magical desert backdrop of the gorgeous mountains. If your looking to get married this is a dream wedding reality!
Now that we got all of that out of the way here is the real tea you all have been asking about on my social media “The Pink Cabana!” Once we settle into our room and got a good nights rest we woke up the next morning in search for a good brunch. Now don’t get me wrong we didn’t just stumble on The Pink Cabana by accident. I’ve been eye’n this place online for at least a year prior to our visit. It only made sense to have brunch here. Let me first say this Hotel is designed by renowned interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, one of the Architecutal Digest Top 100 designers in the world. It has a fresh, modern take on the great Tennis and Racquet Clubs of the 50’s and 60’s in Palm Springs. Immdiately upon arrival we made a B-Line straight over to the The Pink Cabana Restaurant and bar! The restaurant is an ingredient driven restaurant featuring Mediterranean cuisine with a Moroccan influence. Their website says they are currently open for takeout for overnight hotel guest only. I had no idea about this rule because they treated us just like we were overnight guest. the most exotic, luxurious thing you ever want to sit in.
